Boat Launches -There are only two boat launches near the Destin harbor.
Destin Marina – $10 launch fee, open 24 hours. 850-837-2470. Located just north of the Destin bridge at 7 Calhoun Ave.
Joe’s Bayou public launch – $10 launch fee, open daily dawn to dusk. Located at 800 Beach Drive it’s approximately 3 miles by boat to the Destin bridge.
Boat Safety – It’s hard to quickly sum up all the proper safety precautions.
- WEAR your life jacket
- Have a GPS enabled locating device like a SPOT, EPIRB or PLB. Your cell phone will not work very far offshore.
- Make sure you have all the required coast guard approved equipment on board (flares, whistle etc.)
